ETS Bridge Wars Arena

Introduction: In the new map reset, Erik has put in a special Arena built by NoobW and me. It is a Bridge Wars Arena, designed for a special type of PvP, Bridge Wars. It is located at /warp bridgewars. In this topic I will explain what Bridge Wars is, how to play it, and how it will be hosted on the server. First off, here are some images of the Bridge Wars Arena:

- Summary of Bridge Wars:
- There are signs in-game at /warp bridgewars explaining how to play the game, but I'll post here as well. First off, there are two teams in Bridge Wars, one Blue and one Red. each team has a base, and in each base there is a switch. The two teams are separated by a vast empty space, as you can see in the Tedit map. In the beginning, the first ten minutes are preparation time, each team can build defenses using dirt blocks, but they cannot attack. The center will be sealed by active stone blocks. When ten minutes is over, the center will open, and each team will try to go to the other team's base and flip the opposing base's switch. Once a team flips a switch, the game ends and the team that flipped the switch wins. The game is made more complicated by the PvP aspect. Each player is supplied weapons and items by the Arena Chests, they cannot use their own items. There are eight different classes to choose from, each possessing different types of tools and weapons and thus having different strengths and weaknesses. Everyone is in softcore, so once a player is killed, they would spawn back at their base, ready to fight again.
- How to Play Bridge Wars in ETS:
- Bridge Wars can only be played when it is hosted by a Host, or else things will get messy very quickly. For now, only Vince and NoobW know how to host. Once you get to know the game very well, you can become a Host, even if you aren't Staff. If the host is online and wants to Host Bridgewars, tell him/ her that you want to play, and rejoin the server with a NEw, 100HP, SOFTCORE Character with no extra items, and preferably with the same username. Builders/ VIP/ Donaters should login as a [Citizen] or [Active Citizen]. Once you rejoin the server, you will be assigned to a team, either Red or Blue. Go left or right according to which team you are in. If you keep walking, you should meet a place where you can choose your PvP Class. There are signs saying which tunnel leads to which class. Choose your class carefully, as you cannot change once you have dropped down a tunnel! Loot all from the chest you chose, and equip all items. Then, press the switch next to you to allow you to drop down. Once you are in the more open area, there are two tunnels which lead down to a second set of chests; go down any one of them. Again, loot all from one of the chests in the second room, and equip the vanity item/ accessory. Once you have finished getting all of your items, go downwards again to your base. Set your spawn on the bed, join either Red or Blue team, and enable PvP. Once you have done all that, head up a set of wood platforms and wait for the Host to tell you to start; do NOT start early. The host will give you ten minutes preparation time to build, and announce when those ten minutes are up. When the center gates open, you are free to PvP and have fun!
- General Rules:
Respect the Hosts, do not argue rudely against them.
Do NOT use weapons/ items besides those provided to you.
No Hacking or Unfair Modding of any kind (including Staff!).
You cannot use any commands besides /p, /r, /me and /w- you CANNOT use /home, /sethome, /myhome, /b, /suicide, /warp, or any other warp command
You cannot turn off PvP or change teams
Builders/ VIP/ Donators MUST login as either Citizen or Active Citizen
Breaking any of these rules will cause you to NOT be able to play.
- Other Info:
The Control Room (refer to picture) is a place where all the wiring is connected to; switches and levers located in the control room control all aspects of the Arena's wiring/ lights/ gates. Obviously, this is a very important room, and any players messing around in this room can very well ruin the game. I ask that everyone stay out of this room, and that they do not flip any of the levers or switches.
Hosts: At the moment, only I(Vince) and NoobW (a Builder) have enough experience in Bridge Wars to host. If you become experienced enough in Bridge Wars, you can eventually host!

- Weapons Balance/ Classes:
For a fun Bridge Wars game, the weapons should be balanced. Although NoobW and I spent a few hours testing each class against each other, the Classes are still in "Beta Mode". So, if you have any suggestions on how to improve class balance, start a new thread and post your opinions. You can also suggest replacing a class, in that case, please describe all the items you want your new class to have.

Wow, this looks like an amazing game. It would definitely be a huge attraction on the server! I love the elaboration! I will definitely have to try it out. There could even be ranks and rewards for champs!

Really excited to try it out, I was already thinking up strategies when I first saw this gamemode on OdysseyGamez and now it's on ETS. Perfect.

I have added a short command for /pvparena for convenience. (Instead of /warp pvparena)

Wow, I really love this game. Way more action packed than I thought it would be haha. You did an excellent job on not just the building itself, but the armors, weapons, classes. Great job! Tell me if you wanna play sometime!
